21 April 2013

Today i had my last PFL P/u.t flight. I did a solo today .
So, in total, i had 1.2 solo n dual hours for today. It was quite warm in Singapore and some clouds were forming. My first few PFLs were a bit off the centreline due to relatively strong crosswinds.

For my solo flight, The ATC gave me a new route that i didn't take before. I went to the runway via the newly opened taxiway.

In the air, at around 2000 feet, i flew into some clouds unintentionally as the i misjudged the height of the cloud. But, in the end, i manage to find an opening in the cloud and did some max rate turns to fly out of the cloud. On the next PFL, i was at the late downwind position when the ATC ask me to descend  from 2000 feet to land. I was unable to do so, so i descended to 800 feet and go around . After going around, i positioned for another approach to land. On the landing, i encountered some wind shear, but i managed to bring the plane down. A few minutes later, it started to rain heavily.

First take off, turning for downwind

I'm BACK!

Okay, after a month spent in China studying, i am back in Sunny and hot Singapore. I have just flown a few days back and it was my first time in the cockpit, at the controls for a long time I did some circuits and the crosswind components was at around 9 knots( manageable ). My first few touch and goes were not very well done. I.e, there were a few bounces. But after a while, while practising my practice Forced Landing, the landings were getting better. I had to hold at 2500 feet for a while due to Circuit traffic, and had to go around once as i misjudged the distance between the plane in front of me and me as sufficient. The visibility was marginal VMC.
